Mary E. Pearson is an American writer of young adult fiction, born in Southern California in 1955 and educated at San Diego State University. She began publishing contemporary YA novels in the late 1990s, winning the Golden Kite Award for A Room on Lorelei Street, before moving into speculative fiction with The Adoration of Jenna Fox (2008), about a girl rebuilt after a catastrophic accident, which was a finalist for the Andre Norton Award and became the first of the Jenna Fox Chronicles. She is also known for The Remnant Chronicles, an epic fantasy trilogy beginning with The Kiss of Deception (2014), and its companion duology Dance of Thieves, which follow the same world's political intrigue and star-crossed romances through a new generation of characters. She continued that world again with The Courting of Bristol Keats (2024).
