Matt Forbeck is an American writer and game designer from Beloit, Wisconsin, who earned a creative-writing degree from the University of Michigan in 1989. He co-founded Pinnacle Entertainment Group with Shane Hensley and has worked across the games industry for companies including TSR, Wizards of the Coast, Games Workshop, Atari, and Ubisoft. His fiction is closely tied to tabletop and video-game properties, including the Blood Bowl novels, Halo tie-ins, Eberron novels, and the middle-grade Knights of the Silver Dragon series, alongside creator-owned work such as Shotguns & Sorcery and the Revelations series. As a game designer he has won multiple Origins Awards, including Best Roleplaying Game for Deadlands and for The Lord of the Rings Roleplaying Game, and Best Short Story for "Prometheus Unwound." He lives in Beloit with his wife and four children.
