He is best known for the four-book Dance of the Gods series published by DAW Books between 1989 and 1994 — Catastrophe's Spell, Spell of Intrigue, Spell of Fate, and Spell of Apocalypse — a sword-and-sorcery saga set against a post-apocalyptic backdrop where magic is treated as a rigorous, near-mathematical discipline with hints of buried nanotechnology beneath its spellcraft.
