Megan E. O'Keefe

Megan E. O'Keefe is an American science fiction and fantasy author, born in 1985. She began publishing genre fiction in 2014 with the story "Another Range of Mountains" in a Writers of the Future anthology, before shifting her focus from fantasy toward science fiction. Her debut series, The Scorched Continent, opens with Steal the Sky, a steampunk-inflected fantasy of airships and doppelgangers. She later turned to space opera with The Protectorate, beginning with Velocity Weapon, in which a warship pilot wakes from suspended animation to find her enemies gone and an unfamiliar AI in command. Her more recent Devoured Worlds trilogy continues her work in science fiction. O'Keefe's fiction consistently pairs large-scale world-building with tightly plotted, character-driven conflict.
