Michael R. Hicks

Michael R. Hicks is an American author born in 1963, known for military science fiction and fantasy. His best-known work is the space-opera saga also known as In Her Name, beginning with First Contact and Confederation and following a human-alien war and its long aftermath across the Kreelan Empire setting. He also wrote the vampire-themed Season of the Harvest series, including Bitter Harvest and Reaping the Harvest, and the epic fantasy Redemption books such as Legend of the Sword and Forged in Flame. Hicks's fiction blends large-scale military conflict with alien-empire world-building, and he has built his career primarily through independent publishing of interconnected science fiction and fantasy series.
