Michael Suttkus is an American author of science fiction and urban fantasy, closely associated with collaborator C. T. Phipps, with whom he shares two extended shared universes. In the Futurepunk Universe, Suttkus's Space Academy Dropouts series and The Cyber Dragons Trilogy follow misfit recruits and cybernetic conflict in a satirical far-future setting, while his United States of Monsters contributions — the Bright Falls Mysteries, The Morgan Detective Agency, and The Red Room — bring noir-inflected detective fiction to a world where monsters live openly among humans. His solo Lucifer's Star series follows a disgraced war hero in a space-opera setting marked by class conflict and rebellion. Suttkus's debut novel, I Was a Teenage Weredeer, reflects the tongue-in-cheek tone that runs through much of his collaborative and solo work alike.
