Ned Rust is an American author best known for co-writing young-adult science fiction and fantasy in collaboration with James Patterson. He worked on the Daniel X series, including Daniel X: Watch the Skies (2009) and Daniel X: Game Over (2011), about a teenage alien-hunter policing extraterrestrial criminals on Earth, and on The Gift (2010), part of the Witch & Wizard series about siblings who discover magical powers in a dystopian near-future America. He later wrote the standalone middle-grade novels Patrick Griffin's Last Breakfast on Earth (2016) and Patrick Griffin's First Birthday on Ith (2017), continuing his focus on science-fiction adventure for younger readers.
