Nicholas Eames

Nicholas Eames is a Canadian fantasy author born in Wingham, Ontario. His debut novel, Kings of the Wyld, launched The Band, a comic fantasy series that reimagines a company of aging mercenaries as washed-up rock stars reuniting for one last job to rescue the daughter of one of their own from a besieged city. The novel's blend of humor, nostalgia, and full-throttle action earned it a cult following among fantasy readers. Eames continued the story with Bloody Rose, following the daughter of one of the original band's members as she leads a new generation of mercenaries. His work is known for subverting sword-and-sorcery tropes through band-of-misfits camaraderie and self-aware genre humor.
