Nicholas Sansbury Smith

Nicholas Sansbury Smith is an American author of apocalyptic and military science fiction, a New York Times and USA Today bestseller with more than forty novels and two million copies sold. Before writing full-time, he worked for Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management, a background that shaped the outbreak, invasion, and disaster scenarios running through series such as Extinction Cycle, Hell Divers, Orbs, and Trackers. His fiction centers on ordinary people and soldiers pushed into extreme survival situations, often against alien or biological threats, delivered with the procedural detail of someone who has planned for real emergencies. A two-time Ironman triathlete, Smith enjoys running, biking, and hiking, and often retreats to a cabin in northern Minnesota to write. He lives in Iowa with his wife and their two children.
