Nick Martell

Nick Martell is a Canadian-born fantasy author who moved to New York as a child and studied creative writing at Susquehanna University. He sold his debut novel at 23, and it was published in 2020 as The Kingdom of Liars, the first book of The Legacy of the Mercenary King trilogy, continuing in The Two-Faced Queen and The Voyage of the Forgotten. The trilogy follows a disgraced noble family entangled in court intrigue and rebellion, blending political fantasy with a personal, family-driven story; Kirkus Reviews highlighted it as a notable entry in the future of epic fantasy. Before and alongside writing, Martell worked in quality-assurance testing and volunteered on a farm in Ireland. He now lives near Allentown, Pennsylvania.
