Nikita Gill

Nikita Gill is an Irish-Indian poet, playwright, writer, and illustrator based in the south of England, born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She has written and curated eight volumes of poetry and became one of the most widely followed poets on Instagram, part of a generation of poets who built large readerships through social media before or alongside print publication. Her work frequently reworks myth and fairy tale through a feminist lens, as in Great Goddesses: Life Lessons from Myths and Monsters and the Goddesses of the Underworld books Hekate: The Witch and Styx: The River, alongside The Girl and the Goddess and a licensed Doctor Who poetry collection. Gill's writing combines accessible, aphoristic verse with retellings of classical and folkloric material aimed at a broad, digitally engaged readership.
