Noreen Doyle

Noreen Doyle is an American Egyptologist and writer born in 1965, specializing in the study of ancient Egyptian ships and river transport; her scholarly work on Nile watercraft has been cited in Egyptological research on figures such as the pharaoh Djedefre. Alongside her academic career, she has worked in speculative fiction as an editor and occasional author, co-editing the anthology The First Heroes: New Tales of the Bronze Age, which gathers original historical fantasy and adventure fiction set in the ancient world, and contributing her own novella The Chapter of Coming Forth by Night, drawing on ancient Egyptian funerary belief and imagery.
