Oliver Johnson is a British author and game designer born in Paris in 1957, known for his contributions to 1980s fantasy gamebooks. With Dave Morris, he co-created Blood Sword, a series of interactive gamebooks published by Knight Books that combined solo-adventure mechanics with cooperative, role-playing-style combat, set in the shared fantasy world of Legend that the pair had already developed for their Dragon Warriors tabletop role-playing game. He also wrote entries in the Golden Dragon Fantasy Gamebooks series. Johnson later moved into novels with The Lightbringer Trilogy, an epic fantasy sequence including The Elven Crystals and The Power of Darkness, and continued writing fantasy fiction such as The Forging of the Shadows and The Nations of the Night.
