Paul Collins is a science fiction and fantasy writer for young readers, born in 1954 in Canvey Island, England, who emigrated to Australia in 1972. Alongside his own fiction, he has worked extensively as an editor and publisher, founding Ford Street Publishing and the Creative Net Speakers' Agency. He is best known for the four-book Jelindel Chronicles, beginning with Dragonlinks, and for co-editing the shared-world Quentaris Chronicles with Michael Pryor; he also co-wrote the six-book Warlock's Child series with Sean McMullen. He won the 1999 William Atheling Jr. Award for The MUP Encyclopaedia of Australian Science Fiction and Fantasy, the 2002 Peter McNamara Award for lifetime achievement in Australian SF, and the 2011 Chandler Award for Outstanding Achievement in Australian Science Fiction.
