Paul Di Filippo

Paul Di Filippo is an American science fiction writer, born in 1954 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, and a member of the Turkey City Writers Workshop. His fiction is known for satirical, densely allusive world-building that mixes literary pastiche with pulp adventure, epitomized by The Steampunk Trilogy (1995), an early and influential entry in the steampunk genre, and by the biopunk collection Ribofunk. His novella A Year in the Linear City was nominated for the Hugo Award for Best Novella. An enormously prolific short-story writer with hundreds of published works, Di Filippo has also built a long parallel career as a book reviewer, contributing regularly to Asimov's Science Fiction, The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, and, since 2013, Locus.
