Paul Erickson

Paul Erickson (1920-1991) was a British screenwriter, born in Cardiff, Wales. Active chiefly in the 1950s and 1960s, he wrote single episodes for a range of British television series, most often in the crime-drama genre, including The Saint and Paul Temple, after beginning his career on B-movies. His best-known genre credit is The Ark, a 1966 six-part Doctor Who serial in which the Doctor and his companions travel with the last survivors of humanity and the Monoids aboard a generation starship; he also adapted a William Tenn story for the anthology series Out of the Unknown. In the 1980s he novelized The Ark for Target Books' long-running line of Doctor Who tie-in novels, credited alongside co-writer Lesley Scott.
