Peter Kalu

Peter Kalu, also known as Pete Kalu, is an award-winning playwright, poet, novelist and mentor from Manchester, UK. He was chief executive officer for Commonword from 2008 until 2026, and convened their biannual Black and Asian Writer's Conference. He was writer-in-residence at the University of the West Indies at St. Augustine and is a Reading Fellow of the Royal Literary Fund. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts in 2013.
