Peter Newman is an English fantasy novelist born in London who worked as a secondary school drama teacher, having studied Drama and Education at the Central School of Speech and Drama, before becoming a full-time writer in 2015. His debut novel, The Vagrant, follows a mute swordsman crossing a demon-ravaged wasteland with an infant and a goat, and won the Morningstar Award for Best Debut Novel at the 2016 David Gemmell Awards; he continued the story in The Malice and The Seven. His Deathless trilogy, comprising The Deathless, The Ruthless, and The Boundless, continues his interest in richly imagined, myth-inflected fantasy worlds. Newman also co-writes the podcast Tea and Jeopardy, which won a Hugo Award in 2017.
