Pip Baker

Pip Baker, born Ernest Albert Baker in 1929 and who died in 2020, was an English television writer who, together with his wife Jane Baker, formed the husband-and-wife writing team professionally credited as Pip and Jane Baker. Active from 1961 to 2000, the pair are best known for their work on Doctor Who in the 1980s, writing The Mark of the Rani, sections of The Trial of a Time Lord, and Time and the Rani, several of which they also novelized for Target Books. Beyond Doctor Who, they contributed to the film Captain Nemo and the Underwater City, wrote for the science-fiction series Space: 1999, and created the children's television series Watt on Earth. Their long partnership made them one of British television's most prolific husband-and-wife writing duos in genre fiction.
