R. S. Belcher

R. S. Belcher (1967–2026) was an American author born in Roanoke, Virginia, known for weird-western and urban fantasy fiction. His Golgotha series opened with The Six-Gun Tarot (2013), an occult-inflected historical fantasy set in a supernatural Nevada mining town, continuing through The Shotgun Arcana and The Queen of Swords. He also wrote the Nightwise series, beginning with the 2015 novel of the same name, following a morally compromised urban-fantasy investigator, and its sequel The Brotherhood of the Wheel, which introduced a biker-gang order guarding hidden crossroads. Belcher additionally wrote the authorized novelization Men in Black International (2019). His fiction blended pulp adventure, horror, and American folklore, and his novel The Ghost Dance Judgement received recognition at RavenCon. He died in 2026.
