Rex Ogle

Rex Ogle is an American author and editor born around 1979 in Texas who, after coming out at eighteen and experiencing homelessness, moved to New York City and worked in comics publishing, interning at Marvel and later editing for DC Comics, Scholastic, and Little, Brown Young Readers. He is best known for his memoirs Free Lunch (2019), which won the YALSA Award for Excellence in Nonfiction, Punching Bag, a Cybils Award winner, and Road Home (2024), which received Michael L. Printz and Stonewall Book Award honors. Ogle has also written graphic novels including the Four Eyes series and fiction such as The Supernatural Society, a middle-grade horror-comedy series. His work frequently addresses poverty, family dysfunction, and LGBTQ+ identity, drawing directly on his own upbringing.
