Rhys Ford is an American author of LGBT mysteries, urban fantasy, thrillers, and contemporary fiction. Born and raised in Hawai'i, of Hawaiian and mixed-race descent, she attended the Kamehameha Schools and the University of Hawai'i at Hilo before moving to San Diego, California. Her debut novel, Dirty Kiss, launched the Cole McGinnis mystery series in 2011, and she has since written the urban-fantasy Kai Gracen series, beginning with Black Dog Blues, and the Sinners and 415 Ink series among many others. She has been a finalist for the Lambda Literary Award for Gay Mystery, for Murder and Mayhem and Tramps and Thieves, and has won the Paranormal Romance Guild Award.
