Richard Baker

Richard Baker is an American game designer and novelist who served as a U.S. Navy officer before joining TSR in 1991, where he became a prominent designer across multiple editions of Dungeons & Dragons and its campaign settings; the Birthright boxed set he worked on won the 1995 Origins Award for Best New Role-Playing Supplement. As a novelist he is best known for his Forgotten Realms fiction, including the Last Mythal trilogy (Forsaken House, Farthest Reach, Final Gate), the Blades of the Moonsea trilogy, and a contribution to the War of the Spider Queen series with Condemnation, alongside his original military science-fiction series Breaker of Empires and earlier Star*Drive fiction. In 2020 he joined ZeniMax Online Studios as a senior writer on The Elder Scrolls Online.
