Richard Bowker

Richard Bowker (born 1950 in Brighton, Massachusetts) is an American writer of science fiction, crime, and thriller novels. His 1987 novel Dover Beach, a post-apocalyptic mystery, was a finalist for the Philip K. Dick Award; earlier works include Forbidden Sanctuary (1982) and Replica (1986). After a career that also produced the private-eye novel Marlborough Street and the thriller Summit, Bowker returned to fiction in the 2010s with independently published series, among them The Last P.I., continuing his crime-writing strand, and The Portal, a science-fiction series featuring The Portal and its sequel Terra. His work spans four decades and mixes speculative premises with the plotting conventions of detective and suspense fiction.
