Rie Sheridan Rose

Rie Sheridan Rose (born 1959) is an American author working across steampunk, horror, and speculative short fiction. Her Conn-Mann Chronicles, beginning with The Marvelous Mechanical Man, follow a Victorian-inflected steampunk world of automatons and inventors, continuing through titles including Skellyman, Avast, Ye Airships!, and Mutiny on the Moonbeam. Rose has also published extensively in short-fiction markets, including Startling Stories Magazine, and written filk music — folk songs on science fiction and fantasy themes — such as 'A Well-Dressed Hobbit,' co-written with musician Marc Gunn. Her catalog spans thrillers, suspense, and horror alongside her steampunk series, reflecting a career built as much around short fiction, poetry, and song as around long-form fiction, with the Conn-Mann books remaining her most sustained series.
