Robert E. Waters (born 1968) is an American author from Cleveland, Ohio, who writes across science fiction, fantasy, and alternate history. He is best known for contributions to Eric Flint's 1632 shared-universe series, including the novella 1636: Calabar's War and 1637: The Transylvanian Decision, and for his own military fantasy sequence The Mask Cycle, beginning with The Masks of Mirada. His other work includes the story collection Devil Dancers and Other Tales and The Last Hurrah, a novella-length work continuing his interest in soldiers and mercenaries caught in the aftermath of larger conflicts, alongside contributions to tie-in fiction for the Warhammer and Dreadball settings.
