Robert J. Crane

Robert J. Crane is an American author of urban fantasy and epic fantasy, based in Florida. He is best known for his long-running Sanctuary universe, which includes the Girl in the Box series following reluctant heroine Sienna Nealon, and the parallel Out of the Box series. His fantasy work extends to the Southern Watch series and the science-fantasy Shattered Dome books. Crane built his career largely as a self-published author, producing dozens of novels at a rapid pace across interconnected series that share a common magic-and-monsters universe, and cultivated a large readership through serialized, fast-turnaround urban fantasy in the vein of Jim Butcher's Dresden Files.
