Ron Currie, Jr.

Ron Currie Jr. is an American novelist, born in 1975 in Waterville, Maine, where he attended Clemson University before withdrawing. His debut, God Is Dead (2007), a linked story collection imagining the aftermath of God's literal death, drew comparisons to Kurt Vonnegut and established his taste for dark comedy and big, absurd premises played straight. His first full-length novel, Everything Matters! (2009), follows a man who knows from birth the exact date the world will end. Currie's fiction won the Young Lions Fiction Award and the American Library Association's Alex Award, and he has since worked as a screenwriter, including on Apple TV+'s Extrapolations. He continues to write literary fiction shot through with apocalyptic and speculative premises.
