Royce Buckingham

Royce Buckingham (born 1966 in Richland, Washington) is an American author of fantasy and horror for middle-grade and young-adult readers. He introduced his best-known character — a boy who inherits his grandfather's job guarding a portal to the demon realm — in Demonkeeper (2007), followed by Goblins! and later volumes in the series. His middle-grade horror novel The Dead Boys, set in his hometown of Richland, was a Junior Library Guild Selection. Buckingham also writes darker fiction for older readers, including the thriller The Terminals, which drew Hollywood adaptation interest. He has additionally written a run of fantasy-adventure novels, collected under the Mapper banner, for the German market, published first by Random House's Blanvalet imprint before later English editions. His books mix humor, adventure, and supernatural threat.
