S. M. Reine

S. M. Reine is an American author of urban fantasy and paranormal fiction, born in 1988. Her Descent series, beginning with The Darkest Gate, and the related Seasons of the Moon books, including All Hallows' Moon and Six Moon Summer, follow occult investigators navigating demons, witches, and other supernatural threats across a shared dark urban-fantasy world. Reine's Preternatural Affairs series shifts to a more procedural register, following government agents policing supernatural crime, while the Cain Chronicles and The Ascension extend her mythology into further demon- and angel-focused storylines. Her Mage Craft books explore a related magic system. Across thirteen linked series and more than seventy titles, Reine's prolific output has made her a well-known figure in the modern self-published urban fantasy scene.
