Sara B. Larson

Sara B. Larson is an American author of young adult fantasy. She is best known for the Defy duology, opening with Defy (2014), in which a young woman disguises herself as a male soldier to protect her twin brother and becomes entangled in a kingdom's political and magical intrigue, continuing in Ignite. She also writes the Sisters of Shadow and Light series, an epic fantasy centered on warring magical talents, and the Lachalonia books, including Warriors of Wing and Flame and Bright Burns the Night. Her fiction has been recognized among finalists for the Whitney Awards, a juried prize for genre fiction. Larson's novels are characterized by fast-paced court intrigue and heroines who must hide or fight for their true identities.
