Sarah Rees Brennan

Sarah Rees Brennan is an Irish fantasy author born in 1983, who studied creative writing at Kingston University London. Her debut, The Demon's Lexicon trilogy (2009-2011), established her voice in young-adult urban fantasy, followed by the gothic romance series The Lynburn Legacy. She has also written extensively within Cassandra Clare's Shadowhunters Chronicles, including The Bane Chronicles and Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy, and the standalone In Other Lands (2017), which won the Bisexual Book Award and was a Lodestar Award finalist. Her 2024 adult fantasy novel Long Live Evil won the European Science Fiction Award and became a USA Today bestseller. Brennan's fiction is known for sharp humor and morally complicated characters, spanning young-adult and adult fantasy alike.
