As part of the Rick Riordan Presents imprint, he wrote City of the Plague God and its sequel, Fury of the Dragon Goddess, which draw on Mesopotamian mythology to follow teenager Sikander "Sik" Aziz and his friend Belet as they confront an ancient plague god threatening to overrun modern-day New York. His work generally fuses mythic monsters and ancient pantheons with fast-paced contemporary adventure.
