Scott Washburn

Scott Washburn is an American author of military and alternate-history science fiction. He is best known for The Great Martian War series, an alternate-history sequence in which an early-20th-century Earth must repel a Martian invasion drawing on H. G. Wells' War of the Worlds, told across novels including Invasion, Broken Alliance and The Grand Alliance. Washburn has also contributed to the shared-world 1632 series of alternate-history fiction and written for the fantasy-wargame tie-in setting Tales of Pannithor. His fiction typically blends large-scale, technically detailed warfare with historical settings reimagined by fantastical or extraterrestrial threats, reflecting a career built around collaborative and licensed speculative-fiction universes.
