Sean Grigsby is an American author from San Antonio, Texas. His debut novel, Smoke Eaters (2018), reimagines firefighting as a fantastical near-future profession whose weary heroes battle literal dragons, launching a trilogy continued in Ash Kickers and Flame Riders. The same year he published Daughters of Forgotten Light, a space opera set on the prison planet Oubliette that follows a diverse cast of inmates through violent trials as they fight for survival. He later contributed Stars & Stripes, co-written with Stewart Hotston, to the Watch Dogs tie-in fiction line. Grigsby's fiction is known for pairing high-concept, pulpy premises with a dark, grimdark-adjacent sensibility.
