Sebastien de Castell

Sebastien de Castell is a Canadian fantasy writer, born in Pointe-Claire, Quebec. Before turning to fiction he worked as a professional musician, fight choreographer, actor, and interaction designer, and taught at the Vancouver Film School. He debuted with Traitor's Blade (2014), launching the Greatcoats series -- swashbuckling adventures following disgraced magistrate-swordsmen fighting to restore a fallen code of justice -- which continued through Knight's Shadow, Saint's Blood, and Tyrant's Throne. He later created the younger-reader Spellslinger series, beginning with the title novel in 2017, following its own multi-book arc through Crownbreaker. His various series, including Argosi, Court of Shadows, and The Malevolent Seven, share a single fantasy multiverse. De Castell has been a finalist for the Astounding Award for Best New Writer and multiple David Gemmell Awards.
