Sharon Webb (1936–2010) was an American science fiction author and nurse born in Tampa, Florida. She began publishing poetry in The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction in 1963, initially writing under the pseudonym Ron Webb before publishing under her own name from 1979 onward. Her fiction frequently drew on her nursing background, blending medical themes with speculative premises, most notably in the Earth Song trilogy — Earthchild, Earth Song, and Ram Song. She also wrote The Adventures of Terra Tarkington and the medical thriller Pestis 18. Webb's work is notable within 1980s science fiction for its close attention to medical ethics and the human costs of biological and technological change. She died in Blairsville, Georgia, in 2010.
