Shelby Mahurin is an American author born in 1992 in Terre Haute, Indiana, who grew up on a rural farm before turning to young-adult fantasy writing. She debuted with the Serpent & Dove trilogy, beginning with Serpent & Dove (2019), a forbidden-romance story between a witch and a witch-hunter in a French-inspired fantasy setting, which debuted at number two on the New York Times bestseller list and was a Barnes & Noble YA Book Club selection. She continued the world with Blood & Honey (2020) and Gods & Monsters (2021), then launched a new series, The Scarlet Veil, beginning with the title volume in 2023 and continuing with The Shadow Bride (2025).
