Simon Brown

Simon Brown is an Australian science fiction and fantasy author born in 1956 in Sydney. Trained as a journalist, he worked for Australian government departments including the Electoral Commission before turning to fiction, and is a member of the Australian Skeptics, having edited the pseudoscience-debunking anthology Skeptical and the Canberra Skeptics' journal Argos. His genre fiction spans science fiction novels such as Privateer and Winter, alongside two fantasy trilogies, Keys of Power and Chronicles of Kydan, and story collections including Cannibals of the Fine Light and Troy. Brown has won the Aurealis Award for Horror Short Fiction for "Atrax" (co-written with Sean Williams) and for "Love Is a Stone," and the Aurealis Award for Science Fiction Short Fiction for "The Empire."
