Sophie Cleverly

Sophie Cleverly (born 1989 in Bath, England) is a British author of mystery fiction for young readers. She studied creative writing at university level, earning a BA and an MA in Writing for Young People, and drew on a university writing exercise — imagining a character returning to a long-untouched room — to conceive her debut series, Scarlet and Ivy, about twin sisters at a boarding school and the mystery of a missing sibling. Published by HarperCollins and translated into nine languages, the series has sold over a million copies worldwide. Cleverly followed it with The Violet Veil Mysteries, including A Case of Grave Danger and A Case of High Stakes. She cites Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman among her influences and continues to write from England.
