Steve Stanton is a Canadian science fiction author born in 1956 in Brampton, Ontario. He is best known for The Bloodlight Chronicles, a trilogy following two characters, Simara Ying and Zen Valda, through a universe increasingly governed by machine intelligence, exploring chemical immortality, the nature of religion, and the ethics of revenge; Library Journal praised its scope, and novelist Robert Charles Wilson called it a furiously paced journey from deep space to artificial intelligence to humanity's primordial history. Stanton has also published two Sky Songs anthologies of spiritually themed speculative fiction. His shorter fiction has appeared in venues including Polar Borealis and MetaStellar, with a story collected in The Best of MetaStellar Year 4, and he continues to publish through his own imprint, Skysong Press.
