Stuart Jaffe is an American author of science fiction and fantasy, born in 1971 in New Jersey. He trained in martial arts for over a decade until a knee injury ended his practice, and today lives on a small farm in rural North Carolina, where he also plays lead guitar in the blues band The Bootleggers. He is best known for the Max Porter Paranormal Mysteries, a long-running series blending detective fiction with the supernatural, and for the epic-fantasy Malja Chronicles, the contemporary-fantasy Parallel Society, and the fantasy-mystery hybrid Ridnight Mysteries, alongside stand-alone novels such as Founders and Real Magic. Jaffe favors old pulp adventure filtered through a contemporary sensibility and maintains a steady, prolific release schedule across his series.
