Susan Illene

Susan Illene is an American author and U.S. Army veteran who served eleven years, first as a human resources specialist and later as an Arabic linguist, primarily in airborne units, including two deployments to Iraq. After leaving the military she studied history at the University of Oklahoma before turning to fiction. She writes urban fantasy and paranormal romance, including the Darkness series, also published as Dark Destiny, following a woman drawn into a hidden supernatural underworld of angels and demons, and the Dragon's Breath series blending dragon shifters with paranormal romance; she has also written the Sensor series and the historical Last Road to Rome trilogy. Illene maintains an active online following through her Facebook fan community, where she shares updates and reader giveaways. She lives with her husband and two sons.
