Susanna Sparrow

Susanna Sparrow is an American writer best known for co-authoring movie tie-in novelizations of two George A. Romero horror films. With Romero, she wrote the novelization of Dawn of the Dead, expanding the siege of a Pennsylvania shopping mall by the zombie dead into prose fiction alongside the film, and the novelization of Martin, Romero's ambiguous story about a disturbed young man who may or may not be a vampire. Both books remain her only widely catalogued works of fiction, published as companions to the films rather than as standalone novels. Sparrow is chiefly remembered within horror fandom for putting Romero's screenplays into novel form during the low-budget, independent film era that built his reputation as a leading figure in American horror.
