T. E. D. Klein

T. E. D. Klein (born 1947) is an American horror writer and editor whose small output has drawn outsized critical respect. He made his name with the novella "The Events at Poroth Farm" (1972), later expanding its material into his best-known novel, The Ceremonies (1984), a slow-building tale of rural cult ritual that won the British Fantasy Award. His novella "Nadelman's God" won a World Fantasy Award and appears alongside three other long stories in the collection Dark Gods (1985). Klein edited Twilight Zone Magazine through the early 1980s, shaping a generation of horror short fiction, and helped found the World Fantasy Convention in 1975. His fiction, steeped in Lovecraftian atmosphere and patient dread rather than shock, has been reprinted in anthologies such as Shadows and The Year's Best Horror Stories. He received the World Horror Convention's Grand Master Award in 2012.
