Terence Dudley

Terence Dudley (28 September 1919 – 25 December 1988) was a British television director, producer and screenwriter who worked extensively for the BBC. He produced the science fiction series Doomwatch (1970–1972) and the post-apocalyptic drama Survivors (1975–1977), for which he also wrote and directed episodes, and directed early seasons of All Creatures Great and Small. For Doctor Who, he wrote and directed the serials Four to Doomsday, Black Orchid and The King's Demons, and wrote the spin-off pilot K-9 and Company. He later novelized his own Black Orchid and The King's Demons for Target Books' range of Doctor Who tie-in fiction, and those novelizations, along with later omnibus reissues such as The Second History Collection, remain his best-known work among Doctor Who readers today.
