Terry Mancour

Terry Mancour (born 1968 in Flint, Michigan) is an American science fiction and fantasy writer, author of more than thirty books published under various names. He is best known for the Spellmonger series, a comic fantasy beginning with Spellmonger (2011), which follows an unremarkable rural mage who is unexpectedly thrust into the front lines of a goblin invasion and forced to master magic on the fly. The series has expanded into a large sequence spanning Spellmonger, Warmage, Magelord, and further installments, along with related short fiction and the spin-off sequence Spellmonger Cadet. Mancour's fantasy is notable for its detailed, almost bureaucratic approach to magic-as-profession within an otherwise conventional fantasy world.
