Thomas Mullen is an American novelist born in 1974 in Rhode Island. He graduated from Portsmouth Abbey School and Oberlin College before settling in Atlanta, Georgia, where he continues to live with his family. His debut, The Last Town on Earth, won the James Fenimore Cooper Prize for historical fiction and was named a best debut novel by USA Today. He followed it with The Many Deaths of the Firefly Brothers and The Revisionists, before turning to the Darktown series, a historical crime sequence following Atlanta's first Black police officers in the 1940s, which continued with Lightning Men and Midnight Atlanta, the latter shortlisted for the Crime Writers' Association's Gold Dagger. His later novels include Blind Spots and The Rumor Game.
