Thomas Tessier

Thomas Tessier (1947-2026) was an American horror novelist, born in Waterbury, Connecticut, and educated at University College Dublin. He spent several years in London, where he worked as managing director of the publisher Millington Books, before returning to the United States. His fiction, beginning with the horror-tinged science fiction of his debut novel The Fates (1978), established him as a quietly literary voice in dark fiction, admired for restrained, psychologically acute novels such as The Nightwalker -- praised by Karl Edward Wagner as one of the finest werewolf novels ever written -- and Fog Heart. He won the International Horror Guild Award twice, for Fog Heart and Ghost Music, and was a finalist for the World Fantasy and Bram Stoker Awards.
