Tony Bertauski

Tony Bertauski is an American author of speculative fiction for teens and adults, based in South Carolina. His work spans several series: The Socket Greeny Saga follows a teenager who discovers she can manipulate a virtual layer of reality, beginning with The Legend of Socket Greeny; the Foreverland series (The Annihilation of Foreverland, Ashes of Foreverland, Foreverland Is Dead) is a dystopian science-fiction saga built around a virtual-reality theme park; and Halfskin imagines a future in which human consciousness can gradually be replaced by nanotechnology. He has also written the Claus series, a science-fictional reimagining of Santa Claus's origins, with companion volumes Flury and Jack. Bertauski's fiction generally explores questions of identity and consciousness through young protagonists navigating high-concept technological worlds.
